One for the boys- Heartfelt Creations.

This month the new release from Heartfelt Creations is called All Geared Up, and it is a really great range for the boys. Many of the collections are very feminine and floral and pretty, but this one is really bold and grungy, so this month I can focus on scrapping for my boys for a change.

The dies in this collection are gears and cogs inspired, while also being in a floral shape, so they are very versatile. I used some metallic paper to cut some of these die shapes to add some extra texture to my layout.

I have also used some netting and some twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon, who we are cross promoting with this month.

This week on the blog, you will find the new Design Team announcement. I am really happy to have been invited to stay on for another year. It's been wonderful working for Heartfelt Creations, and I hope I have been a little helpful in spreading the word about this company in Australia.

Congrats also to Karan, Oksana, Regina, Emily, Lori, Penny, Liz, Olga, Joann, Kathy, Marisa, Angelica, Nikki, and Kathy for also being chosen for another year.

Welcome to Archana, Susan, Ann, Nupur, Candy, Maureen, Tracey, Robin, Debbie and Gloria, who are ourt brand new designers for this year. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Monday Blues with Ruby Rock-It | Alicia Barry |

This week I have taken inspiration from one of my favourite new dresses. (That's not me in the pic). I am really loving red and blue together so thought I would apply that to my projects this week.

I straight away thought of the China Blue. I have had it sitting here for a while now, so I was glad to find the inspiration to craft with it.

The patterns in this collection are designed for scrapbooking, so the prints are quite large. To overcome this on a smaller card scale, I chose just a few elements to work on in each card and then kept the background pretty clear. I then used some bright red twine from The Twinery to add a spark of colour. A little red goes a long way, so I wanted to be careful not to overload.

Heartfelt Creations catch up post

I've been away in Europe for the last month, and as much as I have intended to keep up to date on line, that just wasn't the case, so today I have a big Heartfelt Creations catch up share post for you.

First up I have some more projects using the Classic Sunflower collection. This is such a pretty range, and I adore the sunflowers that can be made with the stamp and die set, although I also really like how this card turned out with the butterflies as the focus instead of a flower.

...on the other hand this one has heaps of pretty handmade flowers. I love hoe the colour makes the pop off the page. I have also used chipboard from one of our partner companies Creative Embellishments. On this one I have used a beautifully detailed butterfly and combined words from a couple of packets to create my title. I've embossed both in Metallic Melts.

While i was away the new range was released for October. This one is called All Geared Up, and is perfect for boy pages. It is full of cogs and screws, and very cool cog die shapes. I have again used Metallic Melts on the die cut shapes to make them look a bit more grungy.

As always do yourself a favour and check out the rest of the team on the blog.  I am always so impressed with what everyone comes up with and this week I  really noticed how varied the colours are that have been used across the team.
