A beautiful life with Heartfelt Creations.

It's time for another Heartfelt Creations share. I decided to use a background paper to create a scrapbook layout that is reasonably simple in design, but very effect when the beautiful background image is allowed to become the focus of the page.

To create the page, I first added some texture to the background in a subtle way by adding texture paste through a stencil. Once I added the photo, I simply framed it with some beautiful hand made flowers and some soft gauze. The printed image in the background provides the rest of the page. This is a simple way to create an advanced looking page.

Check out Karan's project on the blog this week, it is absolutely stunning. I love the little metal trinket on the gate.

Birthday wishes from Heartfelt Creations

It's time for another share using the brand new Classic Rose Heartfelt Creations collection. There are  a few different colour schemes across this range, but for this project, I decided to focus on the purples.

To see how to create these three dimensional roses, check out the video from Emma Lou here.

There is plenty more to see on the blog here.

September Mood Boards with Ruby Rock-It |Alicia Barry|

This month at Ruby Rock-It, we were asked to do something a little different with our project. We were asked to create a mood board showing some of the things that are most important to us. To do this without over cluttering my page, I have printed them out a little smaller than usual. I also converted them all to black and white since the photos are from all different times and places. This allowed me to create a cohesive set of photos.

I have included a photo of the kids from our recent travels to Hawaii, the most recent cake I made for my daughter's birthday, an apple image to represent my teaching career, plus a pic from my scrapbook work and teaching.

To create my project, I have used some of the brand new papers and embellishments from the newly released wedding ranges.  I used the champagne background stamp with embossing powder along with dimensional paint to create a textured effect.

I fussy cut floral sections from patterned paper to create embellishments. I added to these with fussy cut feathers from paper, and some wood veneer feathers embossed with metallics.

To finish off I added some of the new pearl flourishes. I cut them into smaller sections and tucked them into the floral clusters.

Supplies used:
Bella! Raw and rustic paper collection
Bella! Bling Vintage flourish
Fundamentals wood veneers FUN82
Bella! Champagne background stamp

Heartfelt Creations- new release day with Classic Rose

It's time for a new collection from Heartfelt Creations today. I feel like this collection is a back to basics classic collection that Heartfelt are so well known for. This is a beautiful floral range with really great rose images at its core.

Here's a little more about it from the designers:

Beautiful in color, exquisite in fragrance, and ever so dignified, the rose is one of the most coveted flowers found in chic bouquets, or carefully tended flower gardens.  Breathtaking in bud form, as a blossom gently opening, or in full bloom, it is a flower that calls attention to itself and beckons you to pause and quietly reflect upon its elegance.  Heartfelt Creations invites you to stop, fall quiet and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the new Classic Rose Collection!  Filled with delicate illustrations of roses ranging from buds, to full blossoms, rose wreaths and flower filled vines, the three cling stamp sets and coordinating dies included in this assembling will have you building gorgeous rose gardens filled with varying sizes of dimensional flowers as realistic as those found in nature themselves.  The captivating decorative paper collection will whisk you away to perfectly manicured rose filled grounds, serene meadows where brooks babble and wild roses hold their heads high, and alluring views from charming old world buildings clad in weathered brick and vining florals.  The handsome color palette of regal purples, deep brick like reds, rich corals and leafy greens filled with delicate swirls, stunning brickwork and floral patterns, along with tender handwritten script are among just a few of the magnificent elements found within this graceful paper assembling. So join us as we slow down, enjoy the view and take some time to linger and smell the roses.

Here's my first project with this collection.

As usual with Heartfelt Creations dies, there are many different ways to manipulate the petals to create flowers of different shapes and sizes from the same die.  Check out the blog for lots of examples of how different members of the team have done just that.

Snow Kissed inspiration from Heartfelt Creations.

Today I have a final share using the Snow Kissed collection from Heartfelt Creations with a wintery layout. This photo was from our ski trip a few years ago.  This week we are partnering with Chameleon Markers. I used some green Chameleon pens to colour the trees to create an ombre effect.

Check out Maurren Russell's snowman tag on the blog this week.  It really stood out to me this week. Check out this and lots of other awesome projects on the blog and see a preview of the Classic Rose collection coming up next week.
