Slack at blogging.

I've been really slack lately. I feel like I have been really busy. I'm sorry that I haven;t been getting around to comment on blogs. I will get back into it really soon.

've had a couple of deadlines keeping me going. I can't show any of it yet, but come back on the first for a truckload of work to show. That will also be the day I can reveal my new DT spot.

Mihael is still in Chicago. We have barely seen him lately, although this past weekend, we did have some time together in Washington. It was Marcel's birthday, so we spent the weekend there with him and Belinda. It was nice. Washington is a nice place. It;s much quieter than NY and very clean. I could imagine living there. It was nice to be able to share Kyan around for a few days too. The sheets did come come clean by the way.

Less than 2 weeks now til we come home. I'm trying to think of all the things I need to do between now and then. I better start a list. We are having a crop at Scrapbook City on Friday the 13th. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. It looks like it will be quite a crowd.

Anyone know how to clean out lipstick.

Jess, I know you will particularly enjoy this story.

Yesterday morning, Kyan woke me up asking me to open his new pack of colours, which like a true amateur I did. I rolled over minutes later to see rows of beautiful crayon colours all over my nice cream sheets. So I stripped the bed, washed and dried the sheets and re-made the bed.

This morning, I noticed that Kyan was a little quiet. I walked into the bedroom to this:

Of course, what kind of scrapbooker would I be if I didn't get this photo:

...and after a busy morning of re-decorating:

A new website.

I have started a website with galleries of some of my stuff, to keep it all in pone place. It's still new and has a lot of stuff to be added to it, but have a look and leave me a note in the guest book.

I am going to set up my sketch blog the same way. In the meantime, here is a layout I did for the 2CC DT challenges.

The weather yesterday was beautiful. We went out to the park, I didn't even wear my big coat. Today however, it is snowing. Doesn't make any sense. it didn;t bother me too much, as we could stay inside. Michael on the other hand has had a horror day. he decided to try to come back early in case the weather cancelled flights. Well cancel they did, in a big way. A plane actually went off the end of the runway at one of the NY airports. Michael decided that since he couldn't get home and was at the airport, he would go to Washington instead since the airport there was still open. He sat int he airport all day waiting for that flight and after about 8 hours of waiting they cancelled that one too. He was not happy. So, he got on a flight to Virginia. Not even sure where that is, but he is now driving three hours to Washington at the moment.

I have a feeling he will have a more detailed version of events on his blog.

Meanwhile, I get to live the life of a single mother for another week. Hopefully Kat will come and visit me and bring her son to have a play with Kyan.

Central Park

The weather is all over the place at the moment, but at least over the weekend it was pretty nice, so we headed up to Central Park yesterday. Here is a photo that I took there:

SGK March kit.

http://scrappygiraffekits.com/
I have been busily working on my very first Scrappy Giraffe kit. It is a really beautiful kit filled with my favourite colours. The paper company Upsy Daisy Designs is a new one that just premiered at CHA. There papers are really lovely and are double sided. Speaking of Kat. This is her and I at Molly's house.

Kat puts 2 of each pattern into the kit which is really handy. She also gives us plenty of bazzill.

Also this month we got a Crafters Workshop doodling template. To be honest, I loved the look of it, but wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it since I do lots of my own doodling, but it has been really great, and I am looking forward to getting some more designs. So far I have ised them with pen, paint, stitching and I cut the designs from patterned paper. Because you can flip and turn them, the pages don't all look the same.

I love the Maya Rd letters and got the flowers from Kat as well. I have never used a pack of flowers so fast. Love them! They look great with alcohol ink. (Thanks Rosa).

We also got BG magnetic buckles which are really pretty. I used one to make a purse notebook. And we got BG rubons which are always handy.

Lilycricket's ribbons are beautiful as always. my favourite was the leaf ribbon. I have never seen that before. I also loved the organza.

Enough raving for the moment. Especially since I have just about run out of supplies from the kit. I could have used 2 kits, which is very unusal for me.

*Meanwhile, I found out today that I won a scrap kit from Scrapbooks Etc..

*My very own sketch forum starts on Monday at 2CC.

* Michael finally comes home tonight from Germany/Chicago. It seems like he has been gone for ages. It will be good to get out and do stuff together on the weekend, but at the same time, I suspect that Michael is going to want to do some lazing on the lounge.

Lots of things to share

Michael's home.
Michael has arrived safely home from Germany, although he had to go straight to Chicago, so we don't get to see him til Friday. he has updated his blog with some details of his trip.

Kyan

I think Kyan is missing Michael. He is having trouble falling asleep at night, and it take s many many attempts at putting him to bed to finally get him to fall asleep. he has also taken to sneaking into my bed and falling asleep in the middle of the night which he has never done before. I think maybe the bed has Michael's smell.

Weather
We woke to snow this morning and it was still falling most of the day. We had to go out in it, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Kyan loves it.

2croppincousinz
Starting Monday I am starting my own sketch forum over at 2croppincoousins. I will be posting sketches exclusive for 2croppincousins each week and there will be prizes and prestige on offer so please come and join in, even from Australia.

Scrappy Giraffe
I have been busily working on my DT kit for Kat. The kit was really beautiful and I am very happy with the work I have done with it. I'll do a bit of a review of the kit tomorrow, as I'm sure you've been reading for long enough today. Here's a little peek though.

This one is on the home page at the moment. The newsletter also came out today and has my sketch challenge on it.

I think that's enough for today.

Scrap Pile Guest DT

My lovely friend Cass has asked me to be her guest designer for Scrap Pile .I worked with Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey. Cass has only had her business up and running for a reasonably short amount of time, but it is incredible how she has built it up.

Here are the projects that I did for her.

Thanks Cass.

2croppincousinz March Kit

I thought I might do little reviews on each of the kits that I get for my DT's.

The March Kit is up for sale at 2croppin cousinz. They go really quickly so don't delay. I really enjoyed working with the kit this month. The colours were perfect for little boy pages, but could easily be used for other themes too.

The papers were fun. for the stars, I used glossy accents on each dot. It feels like the rubber grip you get on gloves. Very fun...

We used Junkitz transparency letters. I ran them through my xyron and they were perfect. I also stitched across some of them. The Cherry Arte rubons were a great size for journalling and rubbed on really easily. The chipboard was easy to use although it left little notches where the shapes were attached to the backing. I just gave them a little sanding and then painted them. It was fun to journal on the arrows.

Amy's tags were lovely as always. I turned one into a pocket for journalling.

I completed my usual 3 layouts, plus a photo box, plus a mini chipboard and I still had heaps of product left over, so I also made a bunch of cards and gift tags.

The newsletter is also out. The guest deisgner has been chosen and announced. COngrats Selena. The new guest designer competition will be open soon.
