A Ruby Rock-It Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to another Ruby Rock-It Blog hop. This is the last one for the year and is full of lovely Christmas projects from the design team. I have quite a lot of photos to share today. Stick with me to the bottom of the post for details on how you could win the range I have used here.

Today I have a little card gift set to share. I have used Ruby Rock-it's Joyeux Noel range for this one. It is such a pretty collection to work with. I have also used a few different Spellbinders dies - one of our preferred partner companies, and some inks from another partnering company Tsukineko.

First I made the box using my Crafter's Companion. I used a Spellbinder die to cut the decorative window in the lid, and lined the inside with Joyeux Noel paper. The flowers are created from the Silhouette die cuts set.

I used teal ink and a sponge to ink the edges of the box, and then I sprayed the finished box with a little Sheer Shimmer Spritz in gold.

I created a matching set of cards to go with the box. Each one uses a different Spellbinder die as a frame. The papers, die cuts, ribbons and chipboard pieces are all from the Joyeux Noel collection.

Here's a little rundown of what I have used:
Joyeux Noel Layered accents:
Joyeux Noel Paper pack:
Joyeux Noel Die cut silhouettes
Joyeux Noel Border stickers:
Joyeux Noel Trim:

Spellbinder dies:
S5-160 Opulent Ovals
S5-090 Romantic rectangles
S5-191 Decorative labels twenty-eight
S6-005 5x7 Elegant labels Four
S5-158 Timeless Rectangles

Tsukineko Inks:
Teal Zeal Memento dye ink
Sheer Shimmer Spritz: Gold

Now to be in the running to win just about everything I have used, plus more, all you need to do is follow these simple rules:

My big, little boy.

Just a quick update with a layout that is up on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week, featuring my beautiful (not so little) boy. I always like to take special portraits of them on their birthdays, and this is from his 9th birthday a few months back.

Again, I have used the brand new Floral Keys collection, which lend themselves perfectly to boy pages. I have used stamps and die cuts from the Posy Path collection. It is rare for me to use flowers on a boy page, but the grunginess of the papers seems to make it OK here.

Make sure you come back on the 7th for a Ruby Rock-It blog hop.

Some Heartfelt Creations sharing

Today I have some of my Heartfelt Creations work to share with you. I can't share all of it, because my computer is broken, and can;t get to all of my files, but I do have some cards to share. Heartfelt Creations releases a new collection almost every month and the new Floral Key collection was released last week.

Here's a little intro about the collection and a chance to win it. (sorry about the tight deadline...my fault entirely).

We are pleased to present the Floral Key Collection. This collection contains a neutral color palette with card panels, papers, stamps and dies that will enable you to create quick cards while achieving the "wow" factor. The Floral Key Collection is a set of key and lock stamps and dies with a paper pack that contains a variety of card fronts, 6" x 6" pieces and 12" x 12" layouts with borders and frames. It's a creative, fun exploration of the vintage spirit. The Floral Key Collection will unlock your imagination to creating incredibly beautiful, "fine art" cards. Take advantage of extra savings when shopping with Heartfelt Creations on Black Friday.
Leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog by December 3rd to be eligible to win the entire Floral Key Collection valued at $200. The winner will be announced on December 4th on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

So here is a card I have made using this collection. It took me a little while to get into it, but I love the end result, and hey look- no flowers (well except the pretty stamped ones). that is unheard of for me.

You can see lots of other examples from the Design Team using this collection here.

Make sure you check out he blog on Wednesday for more projects using this collection, including a boy layout from me.

Heartfelt Creations news

Last week, I got the email I had been hoping for, to say I had made the Heartfelt Creations team. There are some really great crafter's on the team, and I am very happy to be one of them. I already received my first parcel this week, and have so many gorgeous things to play with. This company really suits my style perfectly, and of course their dies are manufactured by Spellbinders so naturally they are awesome, and I would say a bit more on the floral side that the SB designs, so that is even more good news for me.

Today my first project has gone up on the blog, so I can share it here now too. This was one of my submission pieces.

These vintage floret roses were lots of fun to make and I love how they came out. I was able to make two different styles of roses from these dies.

Make sure you come back over the next couple of days for a blog hop with Ruby Rock-It/ Bella! Fundamentals.

And I'm back...

Sorry to those who came vis the Ruby Rock It blog hop. I appreciate all the concerned comments. Mum is doing much better. She is home after a very extensive surgery and the long term outcome looks good.

Meanwhile, I have something special to share today. This project is something I created a long time ago. I made this as my entry for the Spellbinders Design Team. I was really pleased with it at the time, and was completely devastated to not make the team,so I have been hiding it away for a little while.

Anyway, it has since been shared on the Down Under Direct blog, so I can share it here now as well. I have used lots and lots of Spellbinders dies on this one and lots of different techniques.

Today I mailed away my submission for the Heartfelt Creations DT. Their dies are manufactured by Spellbinders, so it would be awesome to make that team.

Here are a few more shares from the blog as well. One for the boys...Circles are my favourite dies to use for boy pages.

and one of my girl...I love the detail in  the new embossing folders.

  • Here in Australia we are only 3/4 of the way through our school year, so instead of a BACK to school theme, I decided to make a little something for my own classroom that I have been meaning to do for ages. I have had this caddy sitting here months waiting to be re-purposed, so I have turned it into my new rewards box. Each box will hold a different mystery reward, so it will be a little lucky dip for the kids.

  • I think they will love the bright colours and eye catching designs. Hopefully it will help to motivate them to earn a reward, and it will sure brighten up my room.

    Pretty pastels

I love creating with pastel colours, especially when using pretty photos of my little girl. This one was taken on her 4th birthday while we were in New Zealand on our ski trip.

I have used Prima papers and lots of Manor House Creations flowers on this one, along with a cheval frame from MHC. I love these frames and them all the time. They are great for inking and colouring too.

MHC products: Sweeties - mixed, Lazy Dayz - marmalade, Glitz – pink card pack, Vine – white, Springtime -white, solitude.

You can see more over at the Manor House Creations blog here.

Be sure to leave a comment to let me know what you think. I feel like I am talking to myself sometimes, but that blog counter keeps going up, so I know someone is looking :)

Be sure to come back on the weekend for a fun blog hop.

    Tags and precious memories

First up I want to say a huge thank you to everyone on all the really sweet comments on my last project. Congrats to Helen, who was our winner for the Ruby Rock-it/Scrap FX blog hop.

Today I have some shares from the ManorHouse Creations blog. First I made a set of matching tags using similar flowers in different colours. The tags have a little tent style stand on the back to help them to stand up on their own as a display. I have also used an ornate frame that I coloured with mist, and some sentiment banners.

Next up is a layout from our ski trip to New Zealand. We were so lucky to be staying right on the the lake with some snowy mountains making a really nice background for some pics of the kids, especially Amelie for her birthday.

MHC products used: Felicity layout pack, Glitz card pack, Leaves.

    Thanks for looking.
