Heartfelt Wednesday

Apologies for being late to post this today, but to be perfectly honest, I was spending the day swimming off Waikiki Beach in Hawaii with my family. I'm looking forward to making use of my Under the sea collection and hibiscus dies for all my photos when I get back. I see a Heartfelt Creations mini album on my future.

Meanwhile, back to my Heaetfelt Creations project for this week. This is a relatively simple double fold offset card. I think for the message of the card, that simple is best.

A short and sweet post for this week, but check out the blog for lots more as always, and check back in next week for the first of my Christmas projects.....no, that is not a typo, we really have been working on Christmas already.

Heartfelt Wednesday- Botanic Orchid

Today I have a Z fold card to share using the Botanic Orchid collection from Heartfelt Creations. A great feature of the paper pad is that often the same image, in this case the border frame is repeated in different sizes throughout the collection. This allowed me to layer up the frame for the front of my card, showing off the beautiful border through the layers. This then becomes the main focus of the project.

It's always nice to decorate the inside of the card as well, although I try to keep it simple.

As always, see the blog today for many more samples from the design team.

Father's Day with Ruby Rock-It |Alicia Barry|

It is almost Father's Day here in the States, so the Ruby Rock-It team have some ideas to help you celebrate this special day.  I have created this layout using some of the new iwood papers, along with some die cuts, and wood veneers from other collections.

I started off by adding texture and dimension to the iwood background using 3D stamp paint through a stencil, some crackle paint and black glass glitter. I added some tiny chipboard pieces also. I used mesh tape along with more iwood paper for the embellishments.

I used a little bit of scrap paper from the Bolt collection, along with corrugated cardboard. I also used a combination of wood and die cut foil fleur-di-lis, plus some wood cogs.

Warmest Wishes from Heartfelt Creations.

Today I have another project using the new Botanic Orchid collection from Heartfelt Creations.  This card is a match box style. The top flap slips into the flap along the bottom.

There are so many really beautiful designs on the blog today. I really like how some of the designers have gone with a totally different colour palette for their flowers than what the papers suggest.  Some clever designers have also been experimenting with creating different shaped flowers with the same dies.

If you haven't seen it yet, you can catch a complete overview of the whole collection here. This is also where you can see Emma Lou's video with some more detailed instructions on various ways to create these orchid flowers.

Botanic Orchid- A new Heartfelt Creations release

Today is new release day from Heartfelt Creations. This collection is called Botanic Orchid, and features not only a beautiful stamp and die set to make amazing orchid flowers, but also includes super cute little hummingbird images. I'm not sure if we actually have hummingbirds in Australia ( I think not), but I had never seen one until recently here in California, and they are the cutest little birds.

Here are a few more words from the designers:

Showy, elegant and graceful, the divine orchid flower is one that is most certainly recognizable for its unique shape and known for taking center stage all on its own!  Heartfelt Creations presents to you their newest collection…The Botanic Orchid.  Overflowing with stunning floral images enveloped in soothing moss like greens, soft sky blues, creamy whites and flowery pinks, alongside rich burgundies and vibrant teals this collection is sure to appeal to any flower enthusiast.  Intricate illustrations and die cuts of orchid blossoms and bouquets, accompanied by delightful hummingbirds and scripted sentiments will have you creating your very own botanical experience with hand shaped orchid flowers bringing a realistic touch to all of your paper creations!  Preprinted sentiments along with those in the stamp collection are ideal for covering a wide range of occasions including weddings, friendship, sickness, encouragement and sympathies.  As one of the oldest flower species in the world, this unusual blossom native to rainforests and jungles has also taken on beautiful meanings relating to each specific orchid color including innocence, grace, joy, respect, admiration, health, happiness and passion, making this the perfect flower to convey a silent but special message for friends and loved ones on any paper creation!

Here is my first project with this collection:

The blog today includes a video on how to construct the orchids you see here, along with many stunning examples from the DT. The new members especially have really done an exceptional job with the collection.

By the Sea with Heartfelt Creations.

It's almost time for a new collection release from Heartfelt Creations, but before we do, we have some more aquatic themed projects to share on the blog. Today I am sharing this layout that I created with lots of pre-printed and hand made flowers.

I combined glitter paste with glossy accent bubbles for the background embellishments.

As always you can get the step by step instructions over on the blog, and see all the amazing projects from the design team.
