Sweet owls from Heartfelt Creations

So somehow last week, there was a glitch with one of my files while I was away visiting Vegas, so I had to push my Heartfelt Creations project to this week. It means though, that today I have two sweet owl cards to share.

Both cards are using the new
Sugar Hollow collection from Heartfelt Creations. The little owls in this range are so cute.

I created a window frame in the front of the card then used a tree die to fill the space. Some little botanical rose blossoms are a perfect match for this collection.

Next up, I had some fun with these little guys on a branch.

The design team have been having a great time playing with this collection, and have loads of great projects to share with you on the Heartfelt Creations blog here.  Don't forget to pin your favourites and print the ones you want to try.

While you are over on the blog, grab a little look at the collection for next month, with a brand new flower. This flower is one of my all time favourites.

You can also grab all the details on the next DT call.

Happy New Year from Ruby Rock-It |Alicia Barry|

For my first project of the month, I have been asked to create something with a New Year theme. We didn't have any big plans for New Year, so I decided to take a different path. Many people make New year resolutions... I am not one of them, but I like to start a New Year trying to be  a bit more organised.

I have just been out a paper calendar month by month, but really...a crafter should be able to do a bit better than that, so I have created this. I started with a glass frame. I used pretty paper with a generic calendar on the inside of the frame. I used letter stickers for the days. The rest of the embellishments have been added to the outside of the frame so that I could make it a bit more dimensional.

I added the numbers using a white board marker, and will re-do those each month. The month is mounted on foam dots and can be updated each month too.

Sugar Hollow from Heartfelt Creations.

Anyone who is here to look at my scrapping work, will know that CHA has been on for this past week, and so it's been a busy time which means I have neglected my blog, so I have extra things to share this week. I did get to hang out with some of our Heartfelt Creations team which is always awesome.

First up is a layout I created using the All Glammed Up collection for Heartfelt Creations. I did lots of paper tearing on this one, along with some gold stencilling, and some paint spraying.  I also used a background stamp with gold embossing ink to add some more interest to the background paper.

Next up is the brand new collection for the new year called Sugar Hollow. This is a very sweet and cute collection, that is perfect for little girls.  This was on display at CHA last week, and was very well received.

I made a little hanging birdcage in the centre of the card, which has lots of very fine glitter all over it.

Finally and most importantly for today, our fellow team mate Penny O'Dell passed away shortly before Christmas, and Heartfelt Creations shared a special blog post in memory of her on Friday when I was away. While I didn't know Penny very well, she was a wonderful team mate who created amazing projects, so  I wanted to take the opportunity to share some of my favourites of hers.
