Happy Birthday Emma Lou

(**Apologies for the look of this blog post with the strange backgrounds. I have tried and tried to fix it :(  )

Most of you would know that Emma Lou is the Creative Director for Heartfelt Creations and looks after our Design Team. It is her 30th birthday, so the Design Team, past and present have gotten together to host a blog hop to celebrate. We all made cards for her and sent them off, which she got this week.

Emma Lou's wonderful husband Richard wanted
you all to have the chance to win a $25 Heartfelt Creations gift voucher on the hop!
All you have to do is comment on as many blogs as you want in the hop.

The Hop starts from 8am EST on Thursday 11th August
and closes Tuesday 16th august at midnight EST. A winner will be randomly
drawn from all of the blogs and will be posted on the Heartfelt Creations
Facebook page on Wednesday 17th August. The winner will have
72 hours to claim the prize. If the prize is unclaimed we will draw the prize again!

Nupur is next up, click here to see what she has made:

You should have landed here from Martine's blog, but just in case, here is the complete list, so you can head back to the beginning and see all the beautiful cards that the team made.

Snow Kissed from Heartfelt Creations

It's time for another brand new collection from Heartfelt Creations. It's a bit strange to be working on wintery images when it is still so warm outside.

Bring out the softer side of old man winter in all of your projects with the new “Snow Kissed” Collection by Heartfelt Creations.  An exquisite blending of classic winter scenes depicting gentle snowfalls, candle lit windows, countryside sleigh rides mixed with a sprinkling of fun filled images of frosty snowmen delivers the perfect compilation of winter themed imagery for all of your holiday and chilly season creations.  This newest collection features three cling stamp sets revealing illustrations of towering pine trees and frosty snowmen ideal for creating spectacular winter scenes, a large gift tag perfect for adding that special handmade touch to all of your beautifully wrapped gifts, as well as a wide variety of snowflakes which when paired with the coordinating dies will allow you to build one of a kind dimensional flakes as realistic and individual as those in a gentle snowfall.  The charming paper collection showcases beautiful hues of cozy blues and rich pine greens accented with deep burgundies creating exquisite backdrops to showcase patterns of elegant snowflakes, windswept swirls, playful polka dots and beautiful brocades resembling those found on a cozy handmade quilt.  And, this unique collection brings with it a special surprise…a small gift box die ready to be cut, assembled and embellished, making packaging smaller gifts quick and easy during the busiest time of the year!  So, grab your quilt, cozy on up in your craft room and join us as we bring just a kiss of snow to your craft table….we promise no shoveling required!

This is a lovely collection that has some super cute snowman images for those that like fun images, and also really great trees and background images for those who prefer things a little more serene.

Here's my first take on this new range.  I have used strips of acetate across the base of the card edged with glitter to create the snowy scene. I've added lots of sparkly glitter to the background image too.

This collection comes with a cute little gift bag die as well. You can see some examples of this on the blog. I'll be sharing my own soon. Go to the blog here to see lots more.

Celebrating the Season

This week, I have one last Christmas project to share with you before Heartfelt releases a brand new collection...although if you have checked out the blog, you will see that the next range is a wintery themed one which would also work beautifully for Christmas projects.

It didn't quite show up in the photo, but the die cut circle is all glittered. The flower centres are tiny microbeads.

There is lots of inspiration to be found on the blog this week. I love that there is a variety of projects too, not just cards, but layouts and off the page projects too. Be sure to check it out, and don't forget to click the link to the new collection preview while you are there.

Summer Memories with Ruby Rock-It |Alicia Barry|

Today  I have a new project to share with you using the Summer Dayz mini theme from Ruby Rock-It. This is another photo from our recent trip to Hawaii, only this time, I have created a canvas rather than a regular layout.

I have used blue corrugated cardstock as my main background focus, then used fussy cut florals from one of the papers from the collection along with Bella! florals to surround the photo.

The shells are from the beach on our holiday, and I added some gauze netting and some microbeads for the background.

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations.

It's time for a new round of projects from Heartfelt Creations to get you ready for those who like to get ready for Christmas early. This is a wonderful collection to help you get started on beautiful Christmas cards, although I noticed someone on the Heartfelt blog last week asking about layout ideas, so I thought I would do just that.

There's only a couple of weeks left until the new collection is released. You can see a sneek peek of it over on the blog.

Heartfelt Christmas

Today I have another card to share, created with the new Celebrate the Season collection from Heartfelt Creations.  The sleigh is a large stamp with matching die. The presents are all individual stamps and dies also, giving you lots of possibilities.

Maureen Russell has made a really beautiful banner this week using this collection. Check it out on the blog here, along with lots of inspiration from the whole design team.

Heartfelt Christmas in July - Celebrate the Season

It is so strange to have been working on Christmas projects for the last month already, although at least I am doing it in the Summer weather which feels far more normal to me, even if I am working with snowy images.

The Christmas collection for Heartfelt Creations this year is a really pretty combination of blues and purples and quite a change from  the traditional colour scheme which is always nice once in a while.

Here is a little more about the collection:

The time has come to once again “Celebrate the Season” with Heartfelt Creations!  Non-traditional in color, this new holiday themed collection showcases an assortment of exceptional winter hues…shades of teals, pinks, greens and violets resembling the northern lights, whites as crisp as freshly fallen snow and ice blues mimicking frozen ponds beneath the blades of gently gliding ice skates.  Four fanciful cling stamp sets filled with old fashioned themed illustrations of ornate sleighs, wooden gates, gifts, skates, mittens, and simple wreaths filled with poinsettias and greenery, along with an assortment of charming sentiments will bring feelings of nostalgia from Christmas past to all of your crafty creations while being paired with the contemporary color palette of Christmas present.  Three coordinating sets of dies will have you creating your very own dimensional embellishments perfect for holiday cards, layouts and altered art pieces.  Join us as we “Celebrate the Season” and get an early start to all of our holiday themed creating.

Here is my first project for the month, using the pretty new poinsettia flowers. These are smaller than previous ones we have had and come in two different sizes for perfect layering.

Check out the blog for lots more including some projects with the new sleigh stamp and die cut. It's really pretty. I'll have projects to share with it over the coming weeks.

One last Orchid

Today I am sharing my last Botanic Orchid project for Heartfelt Creations before a brand new collection release next week. I noticed that a few of the other designers has been playing with using the orchid petals in different ways, so i thought that I would have a try myself. I also had a bit of a play using my new Distress crayons to add the colours to the petals. I really like how I could blend the colours with my fingers right on the petal itself.

I layered all the petals of the same shape instead of mixing the two, then used the other shape all crinkled up as buds. Adding stamens to the flower centres also gave the flower a very different loo to the orchids.

Some classic foliage behind the flowers really added to the clusters, while some glass glitter made the petals all shiny.

Over on the blog, Dorota Kopec, who is one of our new design team members, has been using the Heartfelt products in quite a different way. Her blog is well worth a look.
