And I'm back...

Sorry to those who came vis the Ruby Rock It blog hop. I appreciate all the concerned comments. Mum is doing much better. She is home after a very extensive surgery and the long term outcome looks good.

Meanwhile, I have something special to share today. This project is something I created a long time ago. I made this as my entry for the Spellbinders Design Team. I was really pleased with it at the time, and was completely devastated to not make the team,so I have been hiding it away for a little while.

Anyway, it has since been shared on the Down Under Direct blog, so I can share it here now as well. I have used lots and lots of Spellbinders dies on this one and lots of different techniques.

Today I mailed away my submission for the Heartfelt Creations DT. Their dies are manufactured by Spellbinders, so it would be awesome to make that team.

Here are a few more shares from the blog as well. One for the boys...Circles are my favourite dies to use for boy pages.

and one of my girl...I love the detail in  the new embossing folders.

Wow, the month has flown by yet again. Apologies for not posting more recently, but Michael and I have been away in America.

While away, I got the exciting news that I am a semi finalist for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team.

Next I have to make some projects with some gorgeous products they have sent me, which are so perfect for my style. I can't wait to get started. You can see the whole announcement here. There are lots of other really talented people who also made it this far. Tough competition that's for sure.

  • Here in Australia we are only 3/4 of the way through our school year, so instead of a BACK to school theme, I decided to make a little something for my own classroom that I have been meaning to do for ages. I have had this caddy sitting here months waiting to be re-purposed, so I have turned it into my new rewards box. Each box will hold a different mystery reward, so it will be a little lucky dip for the kids.

  • I think they will love the bright colours and eye catching designs. Hopefully it will help to motivate them to earn a reward, and it will sure brighten up my room.

    Pretty pastels

I love creating with pastel colours, especially when using pretty photos of my little girl. This one was taken on her 4th birthday while we were in New Zealand on our ski trip.

I have used Prima papers and lots of Manor House Creations flowers on this one, along with a cheval frame from MHC. I love these frames and them all the time. They are great for inking and colouring too.

MHC products: Sweeties - mixed, Lazy Dayz - marmalade, Glitz – pink card pack, Vine – white, Springtime -white, solitude.

You can see more over at the Manor House Creations blog here.

Be sure to leave a comment to let me know what you think. I feel like I am talking to myself sometimes, but that blog counter keeps going up, so I know someone is looking :)

Be sure to come back on the weekend for a fun blog hop.

    Tags and precious memories

First up I want to say a huge thank you to everyone on all the really sweet comments on my last project. Congrats to Helen, who was our winner for the Ruby Rock-it/Scrap FX blog hop.

Today I have some shares from the ManorHouse Creations blog. First I made a set of matching tags using similar flowers in different colours. The tags have a little tent style stand on the back to help them to stand up on their own as a display. I have also used an ornate frame that I coloured with mist, and some sentiment banners.

Next up is a layout from our ski trip to New Zealand. We were so lucky to be staying right on the the lake with some snowy mountains making a really nice background for some pics of the kids, especially Amelie for her birthday.

MHC products used: Felicity layout pack, Glitz card pack, Leaves.

    Thanks for looking.

And a beautiful assortment of Scrap FX's gorgeous laser cut chipboard fun!

Scroll down for details on how you could be a winner.

Now, onto a little project I created for this hop. This started out as a plain white photo frame with the word family attached. I have used papers from My Romance with a little Arcadia thrown in, along with lots of pieces of Scrap FX chipboard, which has been gessoed, misted and embossed.

See the co-ordinating trim from Mother Nature!

Notice how the chipboard piece has a fern pattern?? Perfect for our New Zealand holiday pics.
I love the intricacy of the chipboard title.

Snow fun with Spellbinders for Down Under Direct.

Here's a recent share from the Down Under Direct blog.  I've combined Bo Bunny papers with a few Spellbinder dies in white. Spellbinders do have snowflake dies, but I don't have them just yet, so I chose this intricate die to represent the snow theme, without being quite so literal. They have a tiny hint of sparkle added to them too.

A quick Manor House Creations share

This one was just up on the Manor House Creations blog.

I used lots of pretty Manor House flowers on this one, including some of the older range. The papers are from Kaisercraft.

Products used:  Teeny Weenies: white, Little Sweeties: white, Capri: aqua, Glitz: blue, Eternity, Wishes: Serenity

Make sure you come back later in the week for a fun blog hop.

    Some newness from Ruby Rock-It

Here's a little something I put together using the new My Romance papers from Ruby Rock-It. Even though they are designed as a wedding range, it was just too easy to pull out a few pages to use as a baby boy page. I can't believe this is Kyan. I barely even remember him looking so little.

Also this month, we had the opportunity to work with one of Becky Fleck's new sketches for her Pagemaps website. You can see it here.  Here's what I came up with using My Romance as well.

     Cheers
    Alicia
