We headed into China town yesterday for Chinese New Year. There was a parade on, but sadly we couldn't see any of it. We got into a crowd of people where we thought we might be able to see, when the world's most inconsiderate person started smoking right inthe middle of a tighly bunched group of people with little hope of escaping his poisonous gases. We wriggled our way away from him, but missed the parade.
Michale did however buy the world's biggest part poppers, which made his day.
Here is Michael and I at Chinese New Year....
...and here is Kyan...

Some new layouts
Head over to my page plans blog. Sara has been doing some sample layouts for me.
I really like this one:
Here are a few projects I have been working on.
Michael and I finally went to Broadway last night. Michael was able to get really good seats, really cheap on the day through his work. We saw The Producers with Tony Danza. It was excellent. We can't wait to go to more shows. I'd like to go to Phantom next. I haven't seen it before.
Michael will be in Chicage all of next week with work. It will be a bit lonely, but I have lots of DT stuff to work on so that will be good. I have my 2CC kit that I am working on at the moment, and I am expecting my first Scrappy Giraffe kit on Wednesday.
I have been offered another DT position over here. I can't say which one just yet, but I am looking forward to working with some great scrapbookers.
Things are changing a bit at Scrapbook City at the moment. Gigi has finished her stint with us, and Nikala O'Brien is coming on board. Gigi has promised to stay on the boards so that will be great, and I am looking forward to seeing more of Nikala. She does great work.
Reality Scraps is well under way. There are some great layouts being produced. There are a few twists and turns to look out for this week.
That'll do for now.

Cyber crops galore
Tomorrow will be one busy day in cyber scrap land. I am involved in 2 cyber crops at the same time. In fact, it is actually a good thing, since it means that it will only be the one weekend day away from Michael and Kyan instead of 2.
So, anyone who is looking for a challenge and of course great prizes, check out both Scrappy Giraffe and 2croppincousinz for lots of fun.

I'm still here
I have been really bad at blogging lately. There seems to be a lot happening at the moment.
I have just come back first SDV scrap retreat. It was lots of fun and really good to catch up with some new friends and meet some other people I had only met online before. I got a few things done. I'll post some pictures over the next few days.
I have had a couple more layouts accepted to the Basic Greay gallery, plus a layout accepted for publication back home. I also have a product challenge coming up for a magazine back home.
Michael and I are trying to arrange dates to come home at Easter time. Michael can only take a week off work, but I might stay for an extra week, so that Kyan isn't too rushed with the travelling. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about travelling on my own though.
I have been really busy lately but I will get around to catching up on everyone's blogs really soon.
Don't forget that both Scrappy Giraffe and 2Croppincousinz have cyber crops this weekend. It would be great if I could have some of my friends come and join up.

February Online Class
The online class for February has been announced:
Being Valentines Day this month, I thought I would offer a layout based on the theme, however I have made a few changes. This layout is called "Adore". I have used my son as the subject. Your subject is of course your own choice. Anyone or anything that you adore.
In this class the technique focus is altered chipboard. This layout also includes some dimensional flowers and a small amount of stitching. The stitching is quite simple, as for those of you who have not stitched before, explicit instruction will be given. If you prefer not to stitch, alternate options will be offered.
This class uses Chloe's Closet papers, and Maya Rd chipboard petals.
This is an angled layout.
As always you will be offered a number of options to cater for all people:
1. Complete the class with me online at the advertised time.
2. Complete the class in your own time with email access to me.
3. Purchase the class instructions only.(This is cheaper, but the instructions will be emailed only, after the class has been run)
Of course, class materials will be available in the shop.
Due to me being in New York, this class can only be offered during the daytime.
The class will run at 10:30 am on Friday the 23rd of February.
The cost is $15 ($10 for instructions only)
See the website for registration: www.scrapbookcity.com.au
The deadline has come for the qualifying round of Reality Scraps. We had all but 8 players who has signed up, submit, which is great. We now have to go from 37 to 20. If you are an active member of the forum, be sure to head over and vote, even if you are not participating. Come and support you fellow scrappers.
Even if you are not a member, I highly recomment you coming to check out the layouts. The talent has really blown us away.
Renee, one of our customers had a go at doing a layout using my February page plan. She was gracious enough to let me display it here. She has done a great job.
I'll add this to my page plan blog also.

Time is almost up
Well thankfully the forum is back up. Steps are being taken to avoid it happening again. Luckily it is back up in time for the Reality Scraps Qualifying challenge deadline which is looming. There are a few people who signed up but haven't uploaded yet, so I hope they are busy scrapping at the moment. I would hate for anyone to miss out.
I'm not looking forward to us having to cut the field down to 20, but it will be great to finally get the competition running.
And to finish off, here is a layout I completed last night for Kat at SGK.

Forum down and some layouts.
Scrapbook City
It seems that someone has hacked into the Scrapbook City messageboard overnight and disabled it. Hoe rude and annoying is that. The good news is that Kerri backed it up yesterday so we shouldn't have lost anything. We should be able to get it back online really soon.
If anyone needs to talk to us about Reality Scraps, don't forget we set up an external email for you at:
realityscrap@gmail.com
I ask that anyone reading this please respect that this is for Scrapbook City customers use only.
The Reality Scrap kits have been mailed and I understand some people have already received theirs. Sara has done an awesome job putting them together and I'm sure that everyone will be really happy with them.

Being the first of the month, menas that the montly kit has been revealed which means I can show m projects using the kit.
It was a beautiful kit to work with, and Kelly does a great job with the custom tags.
You'll want to be quick if you wnat to buy this kit. The cute ribbon jars that you can buy with it have already sold out.
Kyan
We had morning tea with the Mums and Bubs group today which was lovely. I also found out about a free music class through the group which I'm sure Kyan would love. I ran into my neighbours tonight also and we have arranged to go the gym tomorrow, so it's nice to be getting out of the house, and for Kyan to have some other kids to play with.
